| LUMS offers financial assistance
to students with genuine monetary need. This assistance is also
contingent upon the student's overall merit. Financial aid is available
on the basis of need and merit in the form of scholarships and loans.
During the academic year 2008-2009, Rs 72.34 million were granted
as financial aid to deserving students. Currently, around 40% of
the students are getting financial assistance in the following forms:
LUMS
Scholarships
These scholarships cover partial expenses of the programme. The
range of the amount of scholarships over the last year has been
between 25% and 100%.
Merit
Scholarships
These scholarships cover full tuition fee and are awarded
to the top three students in the LUMS admission evaluation ranking.
Students continue to receive these scholarships in subsequent years,
subject to maintaining a required level of performance.
National
Outreach Programme
As a socially responsible institution, LUMS aims to extend the benefits
of its quality education to all segments of society. National Outreach
Programme, initiated in 2001 identifies talent from underprivileged
parts of the country. Then a pool of shortlisted students from these
talented ones is provided free training & mentoring for the
LUMS Admission test. Finally, those gaining admission are awarded
full scholarships to cover the entire cost of the Undergraduate
Programme at LUMS. This year 20% of the incoming Undergraduate Class
comprises of students inducted through the National Outreach Programme.
Suleman
Dawood Scholarships
These are full as well as partial scholarships awarded
to deserving Pakistani students on the basis of need and merit.
Please mention the name of the Programme (for which you have applied)
& your online application tracking ID on the envelope. The deadline
to submit all the required supporting documents is January 18, 2010.
Applications without/with incomplete documents will not be processed.
How
to Apply for Financial Aid
Financial Aid Form is available with the Admission Form. Applicants
who need financial assistance have to complete the Financial Aid
Form and submit it along with the application form for admission.
The admissions office will not accept the financial aid form from
the applicants separately after the expiry of the admission deadline.
