Note:     Attempt any five questions. All questions carry equal marks.
Q.1        State kepler's laws of planetary motion?
Q.2        Derive mass energy relation and show that relativistic energy is given by E2=p2 c2 + m2 c4
Q.3        What is kinetic of rotation? Derive an expression for it.
Q.4        Show that the kinetic energy of rotation of a rigid body is given by k=1/2 lw2.

Q.5        Explain law of conservation of angular momentum in detail. Give two applications of it.
Q.6        Calculate the angular momentum about the earth's centre of a 8.43 kg person on the equator of               the rotating earth.
Q.7        Expalin can body have energy with out havung momentu.
Q.8        Derive the FULER'S equation of motion in the case of a rigit body.
Q.9        Define scalar and vector fields? Prove the gradient of a scalar fiels is a vector field?
Q.10      Derive the EULER'S equation of motion in the case of rigit body?
Q.11      What is center of mass? Find the relation for the moment of inertia of a solid body of uniform               density p.
Q.12      What is simple harmonic motion? A mass “m” attached with an elastic spring with spring constant               k placed on a frictionless horizontal surface is displaced from its equilibrium position slightly.               Derive the relations for the time period frequency instantaneous velocity and phase of the system.
Q.13      When the angular speed w of an object increases its angular momentum may not also increase.               Give example.
Q.14      Calculate the speed of a partice whose total energy is equal to twice its rest energy.
Q.15      Young's modulus for rubber or lower than young's modulus for steel? By this criterion, is rubber                more elastic than steel?
